Tracy Jo Pollan (born June 22, 1960) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Ellen Reed on the sitcom Family Ties in the mid-1980s. It was on this show that she met future husband Michael J. Fox. Pollan was born on Long Island, the daughter of Corky, a magazine editor, and Stephen M. Pollan, a financial consultant and writer, and raised in the town of Woodbury, New York. She has two sisters[citation needed] and a brother, author Michael Pollan.
