Alicia made her film debut in 'David Lynch (I)' (qv)'s _Dune (1984)_ (qv) and, by the age of fourteen, received her high school diploma and moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue acting full time. Once she was in Los Angeles, Lynch cast her in his Emmy Award-winning cult classic television series _"Twin Peaks" (1990)_ (qv) as Gersten Hayward, a part written specifically for her. Following this, Lynch utilized Alicia's talents once again in his HBO trilogy _"Hotel Room" (1993)_ (qv), in which she portrayed a young woman with multiple personality disorder. Alicia appeared in _Mr. Holland's Opus (1995)_ (qv) opposite 'Richard Dreyfuss' (qv) as well as in _Four Rooms (1995)_ (qv) (Miramax/Buena Vista) with 'Tim Roth (I)' (qv), 'Madonna' (qv), and 'Lili Taylor (I)' (qv), which was directed by 'Quentin Tarantino' (qv), 'Allison Anders' (qv), 'Robert Rodriguez (I)' (qv), and 'Alexandre Rockwell' (qv). In 1994, Witt appeared in the critically acclaimed _Fun (1994)_ (qv), which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, directed by 'Rafal Zielinski' (qv), depicts two disturbed young girls whose quest for fun leads them to murder. Witt received the Special Jury Recognition Award at Sundance and a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award. Other credits include 'Mike Figgis' (qv)'s _Liebestraum (1991)_ (qv) starring 'Kevin Anderson (I)' (qv), _Bodies, Rest & Motion (1993)_ (qv) starring 'Tim Roth (I)' (qv) and 'Bridget Fonda' (qv), and _Bongwater (1997)_ (qv) opposite 'Luke Wilson (I)' (qv). She combined her acting talents with her skills as a classically trained pianist in the romantic comedy _Playing Mona Lisa (2000)_ (qv). For this role, Alicia won a Best Actress Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Alicia has made guest appearances on the phenomenally successful HBO series _"The Sopranos" (1999)_ (qv) and the Emmy Award-winning _"Ally McBeal" (1997)_ (qv). In 1998, Alicia starred in Columbia Tristar's hit movie _Urban Legend (1998)_ (qv). Witt's home for four years was CBS, where she starred as Zoey, 'Cybill Shepherd' (qv)'s quirky daughter with a dark side, on the sitcom _"Cybill" (1995)_ (qv) (Carsey-Werner). More recently, Witt was in _The Upside of Anger (2005)_ (qv) opposite 'Kevin Costner' (qv) and 'Joan Allen (I)' (qv) and in _Ring of the Nibelungs (2004) (TV)_ (qv), which was shot in South Africa. She was last seen starring in the Warner Bros. romantic comedy _Two Weeks Notice (2002)_ (qv) opposite 'Hugh Grant (I)' (qv) and 'Sandra Bullock' (qv). She was also seen in the 'John Waters (I)' (qv) film _Cecil B. DeMented (2000)_ (qv) starring 'Stephen Dorff' (qv) and 'Melanie Griffith' (qv).
