Elena Sokolova Biography Elena Sergeevna Sokolova (Russian: Еле́на Серге́евна Соколо́ва; born February 15, 1980 in Moscow) is a Russian figure skater. Sokolova is a three-time Russian national champion (2003–2004, 2006), a three-time European medalist (2003–2004, 2006) and the 2003 World silver medalist. Sokolova began skating at age four – following bronchitis and generally poor health, doctors told her parents she should take up a physical activity.
