Hayden Leslie Panettiere was born on 21st August 1989 in Palisades, New York to 'Lesley Vogel (I)' (qv) and 'Skip Panettiere' (qv), along with younger brother 'Jansen Panettiere' (qv). Her mom got her started in the business by doing commercials when she was just 11 months old. Then, at only 4 1/2, she was cast on the soap opera _"One Life to Live" (1968)_ (qv), where she remained until 1997. Since then, she has gone on to appear in many feature films and TV movies. But she is probably best known in the United States for her role as "Claire" on the hit TV show, _"Heroes" (2006/II)_ (qv). As for movies, Hayden starred in _Remember the Titans (2000)_ (qv) with 'Denzel Washington' (qv) and _Joe Somebody (2001)_ (qv) with 'Tim Allen (I)' (qv). When Hayden isn't working, she enjoys singing, dancing, horseback riding, gymnastics, taking piano lessons, and swimming. She has been involved with many animated movies, beginning with _A Bug's Life (1998)_ (qv) as "Dot", later to follow was _Dinosaur (2000)_ (qv), the video game _Kingdom Hearts (2002) (VG)_ (qv), and _The Mark of Kri (2002) (VG)_ (qv). Her next movie is _Racing Stripes (2005)_ (qv), a partly animated film, but Hayden will star in the human role; other cast members include the voices of 'Whoopi Goldberg' (qv), 'Dustin Hoffman' (qv), 'Joshua Jackson (I)' (qv) and 'Mandy Moore (II)' (qv). In 2003, she joined the likes of 'Jessica Lange (I)' (qv), 'Tom Wilkinson (I)' (qv) and 'Clancy Brown (I)' (qv) in 'Jane Anderson (II)' (qv)'s _Normal (2003) (TV)_ (qv), a film about a Midwestern husband and father who announces his plans to have a sex-change operation. In July of the same year, Hayden appeared in a 'John Guare' (qv) play, "Landscape of the Body", for the Williamstown theater festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Hayden Panettiere
- When the camera comes on, I am not Hayden any more, I am Lizzie!
- I hate how people say I'm growing up fast.
- You go on these Internet blogs and people say the meanest things. I'm a normal person. Just because I'm in the spotlight doesn't mean I'm God's gift to the world. I'm learning and making mistakes just like every other 17-year-old girl out there.
- The funny thing is that people see one film like _Racing Stripes (2005)_ (qv) or _Ice Princess (2005)_ (qv) and all of a sudden, slip me into this category of "that's what she's always involved in" but people don't remember that I did _Normal (2003) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Jessica Lange (I)' (qv) and 'Tom Wilkinson (I)' (qv) for HBO, which was very dramatic. They don't remember that I did _Lies My Mother Told Me (2005) (TV)_ (qv) which was the Lifetime film with 'Joely Richardson' (qv) and 'Colm Feore' (qv), which was also extremely dramatic. They don't remember that I did _Remember the Titans (2000)_ (qv).
- I know it's really gory, and a lot of people's stomachs will probably not like me for it, but that is just awesome, just being able to be bloodied up and have different body parts put on. That's right up my alley. It's so awesome.
- I think at the age I'm at, it's really hard for a film career, and I'm at a point in my life where I thought it would be a good idea to be a part of a good show and to be able to finish school.
- Some people ask me whether I'm a "mama's girl" or a "papa's girl". I'm
- nobody's
- girl. My brother clings to our parents; I'm the one shoving them out the door.
